Gardening in January

Sow seeds of winter flowering annuals like poppies, stocks, violas, etc that have a long growing period and should be transplanted end of February. Biennials which flower in Summer should also be sown.

Plant autumn flowering bulbs. Cut Hydrangeas that have finished flowering.

Mow the lawn regularly and water if possible. Trim edges. Apply your next application of fertiliser and water well.
